Description

At Macmillan Learning, the health and safety of our employees and contract staff is a top priority. The Inside Sales Education Development Consultant is expected to engage in the daily proactive sales efforts (via phone, email, web conferences, presentations, targeted marketing, and occasional in-person visits) considered necessary to promote the full line of Macmillan Learning products in order to reach their assigned annual sales goal, as it relates to winning new/takeaway business. Through ownership of their assigned territory, the representative must stay abreast of all their individual states' trends and opportunities and work independently and in collaboration with their manager and rep peers.

This position is located in our Hamilton, NJ office. The role is a hybrid role and requires 2-3 days a week in the office.



Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Regularly use internal data and analytics to identify/prospect for new opportunities.

Work collaboratively with Account Manager(s) to identify new opportunities at existing schools.

Assess and respond to individual instructor needs (leads) by listening, understanding, and overcoming obstacles, to provide the best solutions to meet the specific needs of the customer.

Plan, coordinate, and execute online presentations or schedule demos as needed to faculty and institutional contacts throughout the year.

Actively and accurately manage company CRM tool (Salesforce). This includes, but is not limited to, all customer interactions, contacts, sales opportunities, and pipelines to be reflective of revenue expectations within a given territory.

Stay abreast of ordering trends and requirements by speaking with faculty, reviewing college websites, and tracking opportunities.

Gain in-depth product knowledge of titles and their digital platforms.

Maintain broad knowledge of competitive markets and sales techniques.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree

Knowledge of MS Office and Google Suite.

Excellent written and verbal skills, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.

Self-motivated with the desire to efficiently complete tasks, even in ambiguous situations.

Position requires periods of close concentration, must be able to sit for long periods, and be able to concentrate in busy and remote environments.

Adaptable to change, self-motivated, and exceptionally organized.

Ability to exhibit varied oral and written communication styles for different audiences, and connect information.

Requires periods of close concentration; must be able to multi-task

Must lift 35 lbs. of books on sales calls

Must be able to sit for long periods

Must be able to concentrate in noisy/busy environment

Must be able to travel occasionally, and work overtime (more than 40 hours a week) as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous sales experience

Experience with Salesforce as a CRM

Previous Higher Education experience
